Finder Series, Volume 2: Cage in the Finder by Ayano Yamane

I really loved the first volume of the Finder series and pretty much almost everyone I know has raved about it. So I was really excited to get volume 2 in the mail. Unfortunately it got lost (le gasp) under some things so when I got to those forgotten boxes recently I found this delightful gem. I sat down and read it immediately, basking in the great artwork and sexy men on page. Although there is only 30 pages of the Target in the View Finder storyline the remaining two are just as good, if not better. They revolve around the characters in the first so I found it just as absorbing.
The story for TitVF picks up where the first book left off. Akihito Takaba is visited by a detective that is trying to get at Asami. Eventually the detective convinces Takaba to go with him to an exclusive club owned by Asami where Takaba learns some unsettling truths. Not to mention another sexy encounter with the hot Asami. The remaining stories in the book talk about the backstory between Asami and Fei Long.
First of all the stories are entertaining, interesting, and definitely hold your attention. The artwork is gorgeous and gritty, giving a dangerous appeal to the mobster actions. In particular Fei Long’s depiction is simply stunning with this long hair practically to his ankles that flows behind him in most scenes. My favorite of course is when Asami is stroking Fei’s hair after he collapsed. I’m extremely curious to see how Takaba fits in and if Asami and Fei will reunite in future editions.
I have to say that Ayano Yamane pens some of my favorite yaoi stories and the Finder series ranks pretty high on the entertainment and satisfaction scale. I’m very pleased they’re re-releasing this series and if you haven’t picked it up, you should.

I haven’t bought a yaoi book in ages but that one sounds so delicious – especially your description of Fei Long – that I definitely need to order it. Do I need to read Finder Volume One first for it to make sense?
I think you’ll really enjoy this one. You don’t need to read the first one as all that happens is Takaba and Asami have sex (repeatedly). You can pick this one up on its own and enjoy!
I read the first one and fell in love. The second and third are on their way. I can’t wait to read them!
