It’s that time again. The Queen of Everything *coughkriscough* has decreed it Secret Santa time. Last year’s was a great success, considerably more people signed up than I was expecting so I agreed to host this again. Last year everyone was incredibly generous, which is not necessary again, and just participating is really a wonderful gift. Like last year, I’m going to be offering 2 or more gift certificates to ARe for random participants again. The more people that sign up, the more gift certificates that get thrown into the mix. Last year I sent out 3 gift certificates to participants.

The basics!

What is the Secret Santa?

Gifting! You buy someone an eBook of his or her choice and you get one in return. This way you’re giving gifts while getting some too. It’s such a fun concept and I personally think it’s fun to buy for friends. You can buy the eBook in any way you feel comfortable. I personally recommend using All Romance Ebooks which sends a download link to the person’s email when you a buy a book for someone. You can also buy someone ebucks for ARe or other retailers so the person can buy their book of choice. It’s up to you!

How to sign up?

It’s easy! Just comment here, in email (penelopes.smut@gmail.com), Direct Message, or on Kris’ blog (when she puts up her pimp post, though she doesn’t know it yet). When signing up please include the following information:

• Your email or way to contact you.

• Your #1 choice for eBook. This way you’re sure to get what you want!

• Your #2 choice for eBook. It’s always smart to have a backup.

In one week on next weds, I’ll make a master list of everyone participating and send out the name of your Secret Santa the same day. You’ll have until Christmas to send and get your gift.  I’ll also send emails after Christmas revealing the Secret Santa identities so you can thank (or curse) your gifter.

This is open to anyone! Readers, authors, even those weird m/f romance fans .. anyone can participate.

Thank you everyone for making the Secret Santa such a success!

We had more than I anticipated join in and most were incredibly generous. Although the rules asked that you gift one book, most secret santas went above and beyond and gave BOTH choices to their chosen person.  So thank you everyone for participating and with such generosity.

Over on Goodreads, the m/m reading group is doing a Secret Santa book exchange. I love this idea but unfortunately, I don’t know many of the people in that group and some of the people on LJ aren’t involved in that either.

So let’s do a Secret Santa with anyone who may not be involved with the Goodreads group. If you are already doing a gift exchange and want to get in here, please do!
